My passion is in stories about culture, diversity and performing arts. The majority of my work is collaborations with NPOs as well as feature work for print publications and online medias.
It was an accident, or you can say, a mistake, that 19-year-old Ilham boarded the flight to the United States alone, when her father Ilham Tohti, famous economist and respected university professor was obtained at the Beijing Capital International Airport by the Chinese authorities. Living in a foreign land alone, with all her families in China, and her father in prison serving a life sentence for “separatism” charge, all she wants is to have her father back. “I dance.” She said. Only when she is dancing that she feels peaceful.
Delion Sanctuary of Apollo, Paros, Greece, 2017
In the summer of 2017, I took a service learning class titled Documenting Historical Cultural Artifacts and Traditions in Paros, Greece. By the end of the trip, my team created a short documentary film about the Delion Sanctuary of Apollo. We interviewed local experts about Apollo and his temples, went to the ruins and museums and documented evidences, and tried to use 3D models to rebuild its beauty.
